Pear and chestnut clafoutis *

A clafoutis is a traditional French dessert usually made with cherries and a lot of eggs 🙂 it’s such an easy and delicious dessert, I even had some for breakfast yesterday. This version is gluten free, made with chestnut flour and pears. I guess I’m just incapable of following recipes 😉

Ingredients: (for 6 persons)

  • 500g of peeled pears cut in half (about 3 or 4)
  • 80g of raw sugar
  • 125g of chestnut flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 200ml of liquid whole cream
  • 100ml of almond milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 10g of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla seeds

Preparation: 15 minutes

Baking: 45 minutes – 180°C

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. Mix the flour and the sugar together. Add in the vanilla and the salt.
  3. Add in the eggs one by one.
  4. Add the milk little by little and whisk in well to avoid clutters. Add the cream and keep whisking.
  5. Place the pears in a dish and pour the mixture on top.
  6. Bake at the bottom of the oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with some icing sugar on top.
